Every grade above is covered by our Gujarat Directorate of Agriculture NOC under Schedule VI. Click a grade for its page.
Plant source, animal source and free amino acids
Protein hydrolysates are mixtures of free amino acids and short peptides made by breaking down proteins with enzymes, acid or alkali. Plant-source grades start from vegetable proteins; animal-source grades start from animal proteins such as collagen, which gives a profile richer in glycine and proline. Amino acid grades are specified by their free amino acid content.
Protein hydrolysate or amino acid?
A protein hydrolysate contains both free amino acids and peptides; an amino acid grade is specified by its free amino acid content. In practice the two are used for similar jobs. Read protein hydrolysate vs amino acid.
Plant source or animal source?
Animal-source hydrolysates (for example from collagen) are rich in glycine and proline. Plant-source hydrolysates have a broader profile and are preferred in some organic and export markets. Tell us your market and we will recommend the source.
Where it is used
| Situation | Why amino acids are used | Grades to ask for |
|---|---|---|
| After cold, heat, hail or transplanting | Supporting recovery | Protein hydrolysate plant source 25% or 27%, amino acid 20% |
| Early growth | Canopy and root development | Amino acid 10%, protein hydrolysate plant source 16.9% |
| Flowering and fruit set | Supporting set in fruit and vegetables | Protein hydrolysate animal source 36.04%, amino acid 20% |
| Granular and retail products | Low-dose ready products | Protein hydrolysate plant source 1.5%, amino acid 5% |
Results vary with crop, soil, weather and practice. Follow the label, run a small trial first and scale what works on your farm. Nothing on this page is a guarantee of yield.

Questions buyers ask
What is protein hydrolysate in agriculture?
It is a biostimulant made by breaking proteins down into free amino acids and short peptides. Crops use these to recover from stress and support growth, flowering and fruit set.
What is the difference between protein hydrolysate and amino acid fertilizer?
A protein hydrolysate contains free amino acids plus peptides. An amino acid fertilizer is specified by its free amino acid content. Both are used for recovery and growth.
Plant-based or animal-based amino acids: which is better?
Neither is better for every case. Animal-source hydrolysates are rich in glycine and proline; plant-source hydrolysates have a broader profile and are preferred in some organic and export markets.
What are the uses of amino acid fertilizer?
Supporting recovery after cold, heat, transplanting or pest damage, supporting early growth and canopy, supporting flowering and fruit set, and complexing micronutrients in foliar sprays.
What is the dose of amino acid fertilizer per acre?
It depends on the grade and concentration. Follow the label, or ask us for the dose chart for the grade you buy.
Do you supply amino acid 80% soybean-based powder?
Our grades listed for sale in India are shown above. For export or formulation, send us the specification you need and we will quote.
What is the price of amino acid fertilizer (25 kg)?
Price depends on the grade and concentration, the form (liquid, powder or granule), the pack size, the order quantity and, for export, the Incoterm and destination port. We do not publish a price list because bulk, private-label and retail packs are priced differently. Send the grade, quantity and destination and we reply with a quote, usually within one working day.
Can amino acids be mixed with seaweed extract?
Yes. Amino acids and seaweed extract are commonly sprayed together. Run a jar test with any other product in the tank.
