Banana nutrition and biostimulant programme

How banana growers in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka use humic acid, seaweed, amino acids and biofertilisers, and how our Immunity Banana Special came about.

Banana is a fast-growing, heavy-feeding crop, especially for potash. A good programme pairs balanced fertigation with humic acid and biofertilisers in the root zone, seaweed extract and amino acids for vigour and stress, and potash through bunch development. Disease pressure needs a separate crop-protection plan.

Banana problems and our programme

Problems growers bring to us

  • Heavy Sigatoka and Fusarium pressure
  • Plant mortality
  • Slow growth and delayed shooting
  • Low bunch weight
  • Export-quality fruit is hard to reach

Immunity Banana Special

Immunity Banana Special was developed with banana growers in Central Gujarat working under heavy fungal disease pressure from Sigatoka leaf spot and Fusarium wilt, with plant mortality and poor growth, bunch weight and quality. It is a nutrition and soil-health programme that supports plant vigour; it is not a fungicide, and disease control needs its own crop-protection plan.

Distributors can carry this programme in territories where we do not yet have a presence, and brands can have it made under their own label.

Banana questions

What is the best fertilizer for banana plants in India?

Banana needs balanced nutrition with plenty of potash, usually through fertigation, plus humic acid and biofertilisers for the root zone and seaweed extract for vigour.

Which fertilizer increases banana bunch weight?

Bunch weight depends on plant vigour, potash nutrition and water through bunch development. Potash with seaweed extract and KMB is a common approach.

Can biostimulants cure Fusarium wilt or Sigatoka in banana?

No. Biostimulants are not fungicides. They support plant vigour, but disease control needs clean planting material and a crop-protection plan from your local adviser.

Which biofertilizers are used for banana?

Mycorrhizae, Azospirillum, PSB and KMB, often as a consortium, applied at planting and through drip.
